What do we charge?
Our fees will vary depending on how much – or how little – you instruct us to do.
If you would like us to undertake the whole process of administering the estate
then we will carry out the following essential tasks on your behalf:
• Dealing with the notification of all banks, building societies, or other institutions where
the deceased held assets to obtain full valuations and obtain any forms for completion;
• Deal with the valuation and sale of any house or other property held by the deceased;
• Establish the extent of any debts of the deceased;
• Place the Statutory Notices for the protection of executors should there be
any creditors or beneficiaries of whom you are unaware;
• Liaise with the tax office to finalise the deceased’s tax affairs;
• Ensure all benefits and pensions owing to the deceased are collected in or
any overpayments are repaid;
• Prepare the probate papers and associated tax forms;
• Obtain the grant of probate;
• Collect in all assets and pay any debts or other liabilities;
• Prepare a full and comprehensive estate account; • Deal with the distribution of the estate.
The hourly rate charged will vary according to the seniority of the member of staff doing the work. Rates are revised every year on 1st January. Click here for the current rates.
If, instead, you would like to have more involvement in the process then we can tailor
make a package to suit you and will give you a fixed price quote at the outset.
You may, for instance, simply require us to obtain the Grant of Probate/Letters of Administration on your behalf in which case our charges could be as little as £250 plus VAT.
The only additional costs to you would be the Court Fee charged by the Probate Registry and
any swearing fees (which usually total less than £75) |
